ICT Departmental Aims.
1. To ensure that the National Curriculum Programme of Study for ICT is fully accessible for all pupils of New Heys School.
2. To provide a positive environment in which students are motivated to learn about ICT and its impact on society.
3. To help students prepare themselves for a rapidly changing world where activities are increasingly transformed by access to ICT.
4. To help students develop initiative and independent learning skills so that they can make life long progress with ICT and other curriculum areas.
5. To help promote students spiritual, moral, social and cultural development through ICT.
6. To provide access to a wide range of ICT applications and help students become autonomous users of ICT hardware and software.
7. To give the opportunity for students to develop their knowledge of ICT through work-related learning ICT activities.
8. To further develop or consolidate communication skills by providing opportunities for students to practice literacy skills whilst using and learning about ICT.
9. To further develop or consolidate application of number skills by providing opportunities for students to practice numeracy and other mathematical concepts whilst using and learning about ICT.
10. To give the opportunity for pupils to identify relevant sources of information, process their research and develop solutions to real world problems.
