Religious Education
At New Heys we aim to provide an opportunity for every student to learn about religious beliefs and practices. Year 7/8 and 9 students follow a course that explores Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism. Year 10 and 11 students follow the GCSE short course syllabus, which involves a variety of moral, social and ethical issues, considered from the perspective of different religions.
Sixth form students explore these issues in greater depth. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from Religious Education lessons / and or assemblies which are essentially Christian in nature.
