The House Business System
To enhance the work of the school New Heys has introduced a House-Business structure whereby we have five Houses, each linked to a local business organisation.
Every New Heys student and member of staff is a member of one of the House Businesses. This structure provides enhanced opportunities for partnership with these organisations and we hope, employment opportunities for students in the future. The House Business System:
• Builds on and formalises current educational development between the school and these business organisations
• Provides New Heys students and staff with the opportunity to gain an insight into the needs and requirements of business to enable more relevant learning programmes
• Prepares young people with the skills and insights to ensure employability
• Develops work related learning opportunities for our students within school and in the host business
"We have a belief that partnership with these companies will enhance the life chances and aspirations of our young people through focused learning based on real life contexts and situations. We also believe we have a lot to learn from one another, the results of which can only benefit our commitment to lifelong learning and enhance the employability chances of the local community to our mutual benefit"
